「海の日うみ　ひ」は国民の祝日こくみん　しゅくじつです。

7月がつの3回目かいめの月曜日げつようびです。

※2021年は7月22日ねん　　がつ　　にち（木曜日もくようび）です。
オリンピックがあるからです。

この日ひは、オリンピック開会式かいかいしきの前日ぜんじつです。

海の日うみ　ひが　国民の祝日こくみん　しゅくじつなのは　日本にほんだけだそうです。

内閣府ないかくふのホームページでは、『海の恩恵に感謝うみ　おんけい　かんしゃするとともに、海洋国日本の繁栄を願かいようこくにほん　はんえい　ねがう』とあります。

海うみでは　おまつりや　ビーチクリーンが　あります。

お祝いわいの食たべものやセレモニーはありません。いえではなにもしません。

日本にほんは　海うみに囲かこまれています。

魚さかなや　海藻かいそうを　食たべたり、船ふねで　外国がいこくへ　にもつを運はこんだり　します。

おさんぽや　マリンスポーツをして　楽たのしく　あそべる　場所ばしょでもありますね！

「祝日しゅくじつ」って、なに？

日本にほんには独特どくとくの「祝日しゅくじつ」があります。

祝日しゅくじつとは、土曜日・日曜日以外どようび　にちようびいがいの休日きゅうじつです。

保育園・幼稚園・学校・仕事ほいくえん　ようちえん　がっこう　しごとが休やすみになることがあります。

日曜日にちようびが祝日しゅくじつのときは、その日ひよりあとの一番近い日いちばんちか　ひが休日きゅうじつになります。

• 『国民の祝日こくみん　しゅくじつ』について（内閣府ないかくふ）

"Umi-no-hi" is one of national holidays in Japan.

It falls on the third Monday in July.

However, it will be Thursday, July 22 exceptionally in 2021. 

This is because of the Olympics and it will be the day before the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

It is said that no country other than Japan has a national holiday like "umi-no-hi".

According to the Cabinet Office's website, "it is the day when we thank the blessings of the sea

and wish for the prosperity of Japan as a maritime nation.

There may be some festivals and cleaning events on beach.

There are no celebratory foods or ceremonies, or nothing to do at home.

Japan is surrounded by the sea.

We eat fish and seaweed, and sail across the oceans to foreign countries.

It is also a place where we can go for walk and enjoy marine sports!

 

What is "Shuku-jitsu" ?

Japan has a unique set of "shuku-jitu", which may be directly translated as "celebration day".

Literally, they are holidays.

Nursery schools, kindergartens, schools, and workplaces may be closed.

If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the next closest day becomes a holiday.
