4月がつのおわりから　５月がつのはじめに　長ながいお休やすみがあります。　

ゴールデンウィークといいます。

「春の大型連休はる　おおがたれんきゅう」や「GW」ということもあります。

土曜日どようび　日曜日にちようびの　おやすみに　4つの祝日しゅくじつと　振替休日ふりかえきゅうじつを　あわせます。

そうすると、長ながいお休やすみになります。

お天気てんきがよい季節きせつです。

出でかける人が多ひと　おおいです。ホテルや新幹線、飛行機の予約しんかんせん　ひこうき　よやくははやめにしましょう！

車くるまの道みちも　とても混こむので　時間じかんに余裕よゆうをもって　出でかけるといいですよ。

病院びょういんもお休やすみになることがあります。

とつぜんの　病気びょうきや　けがにあわてないよう、住すんでいるところの　休日きゅうじつや夜間診療やかんしんりょうを　しらべておくと　あんしんです。

「祝日しゅくじつ」って、なに？

 日本にほんには独特どくとくの「祝日しゅくじつ」があります。

祝日しゅくじつとは、土曜日・日曜日以外どようび　にちようびいがいの休日きゅうじつです。

保育園・幼稚園・学校・仕事ほいくえん　ようちえん　がっこう　しごとが休やすみになることがあります。

日曜日にちようびが祝日しゅくじつのときは、その日ひよりあとの一番近い日いちばんちか　ひが休日きゅうじつになります。

「振替休日ふりかえきゅうじつ」って、なに？

日曜日にちようびと　祝日しゅくじつが　同じ日おな　ひになったとき　つぎの平日へいじつが　おやすみになることです。

ようちえんや　学校がっこうはおやすみになります。（ほいくえんはかくにんしてくださいね）

From the end of April to the beginning of May, there is a long vacation called "Golden Week".　

It is also called "GW" or "Haru no o-gata renkyu", meaning the big holiday of spring.

It is a long vacation that consists of four national holidays ("shuku-jitsu"- detais below),

and a substitute holiday ("furikae-kyujitsu" - details also below).

It's a nice season here in Japan, so many people go out for leisures.
If you are planning to travel, make sure to reserve hotels, shinkansen, and air tickets well in advance. 
We will have long lines in stores and parks, and also traffic jams.
Make sure you make a plan with flexibility of time.

Hospitals may also be closed.
To avoid the panic in sudden illness or injury, it's a good idea to know about holidays and night clinics in your area.

What is "Shuku-jitsu" ?

Japan has a unique set of "shuku-jitu", which may be directly translated as "celebration day".

Literally, they are holidays.

Nursery schools, kindergartens, schools, and workplaces may be closed.

If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the next closest day becomes a holiday.

What is "Furikae-kyujitsu" ? 

"Furikae-kyujitsu" stands for a substitute holiday.

When a holiday falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the next day will be a holiday as "furikae-kyujitsu".
